Privacy and Security

This policy explains how Community Wellbeing North Canterbury Trust collects ‘personal information’, how that information is stored, secured and handled, and what rights you have in relation to that information, and retrieving or deleting your information.

This policy does not apply to pages or sites hosted by other organisations whom Community Wellbeing might work with, or that our sites may link to. It only applies directly to sites owned or run by Community Wellbeing.

It’s important to us that your experience with our website and our digital platforms is safe, transparent and understandable, and protects your rights to privacy

Personal Information

Personal information that Community Wellbeing might collect from you includes your name, address, contact details (such as telephone number and email address) and, if you are a donor, your payment details and banking details.

We use personal information provided to us for the purposes for which it is provided, and for related purposes relevant to our activities, for example:

To provide services that you have requested via one of our client referral forms.

To process donations and regular giving transactions.

To send receipts for donations.

To sign you up to receive our newsletter and other important items of interest (if you have chosen to hear from us. You can opt out at any time).

To organise volunteer activities.

To administer events.

We manage your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

We will keep your information safe by taking all reasonable steps to ensure the security of all data collected and stored.

We do not share your personal information with any other organisations or anyone else other than client referral forms that may be shared with partner agencies in our network, for the purpose of providing you with wellbeing services.

By providing Community Wellbeing with your personal information, you accept this privacy policy and authorise us to collect, store and process your information in the ways outlined in this policy.

Cookies

Cookies may be used to remember visitor preferences when interacting with our website. You may set your web browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, or to disable cookies altogether.

Payment details

Community Wellbeing does not permanently store your credit card or banking details.

Our donation page uses a third party payment processor supplied by Stripe, one of the world’s leading payment handling services (see https://stripe.com/nz/privacy) Stripe processes payments using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the internet in a way that is designed to prevent unauthorised parties from intercepting data communications.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong.
